Animal Structure - Does a horse or livestock shelter/feeding structures need building permits?

YES, in most cases.

There are no open feedlots permitted for horses and/or livestock.

You must check with Collier County Building Department customer service. If the Collier County Building Division determines no permit is needed, the shelter/feeding structures will still need to be a minimum of 30 feet from any lot line, and a minimum of 100 feet from any residence on an adjacent parcel of land.

Visit Building Permitting Procedures to view the Permit Flow Process.
