Deceased Animal on Public Property - Who do we contact when there is a dead animal on public property/public roadways?
Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is responsible for the removal of deceased domestic animals (excluding wildlife) from public property or public roadways.
When submitting a 311 Service Request or contacting DAS at (239) 252-7387, please ensure to provide the following information:
• The species of domesticated animal requiring removal
• A comprehensive description of the precise location of the animal (must be situated on public property or on a public roadway)
**Please Note** Collier County is unable to remove deceased animals from private property or within any development or community.
In cases involving deceased wildlife located on public roadways, please reach out to the Collier County Road Maintenance Division at (239) 252-8924 for proper disposal.
**Please be advised** DAS no longer accepts anonymous complaints pertaining to violations of the Animal Control Ordinance, which includes requests for the removal of deceased domestic animals from public property or roadways. This policy has been implemented to promote transparency and accountability, thereby keeping the public informed and engaged.
