Short Term Vacation Rental Registration

At the November 9, 2021 Board of County Commissioners meeting, Ordinance No. 2021-45  was approved establishing Short Term Vacation Rental Registration , effective 1/3/2022.

The registration link, accessed from the GMD Public Portal Welcome - CityView Portal (colliercountyfl.gov), will be activated as of 1/4/2022. There is a 90-day grace period until 4/3/2022, allowing for property owners and agents the ability to submit application to the Collier County Growth Management Department, Community Development Services.

This ordinance establishes Short Term Vacation Rental Registration requirements for property owners of short-term vacation rentals in unincorporated Collier CountyThis Ordinance does not include properties in the City of Naples, Marco, or Everglades.

The intent of the ordinance is to identify a designated point of contact and ensure the vacation rental, as defined by Florida State Statute Chapter 509, is properly registered with the State of Florida (DBPR registration) Licensing Portal - DBPR Online Applications (myfloridalicense.com) and the Collier County Tax Collector (TDT account number and Business Tax Receipt). The mere existence of a TDT number does not necessarily indicate that the approved Collier County Short Term Vacation Rental Ordinance applies. Please note that properties that are not required to register in accordance with Florida Statute Ch. 509 are exempt from this program.

Any Owner who is not required to register with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, as defined by Florida Statute is exempt from this ordinance.

Owner: The term "Owner," shall mean the person or entity holding legal title to the short-term vacation rental property, as reflected in the Collier County Tax Collector's records.

Identification of  Designated Responsible Party and current contact information for each property registered.

Designated Responsible Party  - is available in person or by telephone twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week to address any law enforcement action, emergency response, or County

ordinance violation arising from the rental of the Short-Term Vacation Rental unit and be willing and able to be onsite to address violations within the next day of notification.

Collier County Registration will require: Proof of registration for each vacation rental with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and affirmation of a TDT account with the Collier County Tax Collector.
