Reporting Irrigation Leaks and Overspray

Irrigation, whether public or private, is one of the largest uses of water in Southwest Florida. To protect the year-round availability of water, Collier County adopted the Water Conservation Ordinance for Landscape Irrigation, ordinance 2015-27. Some of the provisions included in this ordinance include;

  • All wasteful and unnecessary water use is prohibited.
      • This includes: excessive landscape irrigation, leaving water running from an unattended hose, unnecessarily allowing irrigation water to fall onto a street or sidewalk, or allowing water to flow through a broken or malfunctioning water delivery system
  • No irrigating between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM, see ordinance for exceptions
  • Irrigation days are designated by address:
      • Even addresses or multi-family addresses, those ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8, can irrigate on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays and/or Sunday
      • Odd addresses, those ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, may irrigate on Monday and/or Wednesday and/or Saturday
      • Exceptions allowed for maintenance, new plants, and “watering in” of fertilizer per ordinance
