INFRASTRUCTURE SURTAX FACTS:

• The Surtax ended on December 31, 2023 because projected collections reached the amount of $490 million last year.
  
• As of January 1, 2024, The sales tax in Collier County is now the same as general state sales tax rate of 6%. 

REPORT A BUSINESSES STILL CHARGING THE 1% SURTAX:

• If you suspect or know of an individual or company that is not complying with the tax law, report it to the Florida Department of Revenue Tax Violations Unit please be prepared to provide information about the business, the type of violation, and date the violation occurred.
